IN THE SPIRIT OF COLLABORATION, WE CONTRIBUTE BOTH LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY IN MENTAL HEALTH

Community Outreach & Advocacy

Schaepper Psychiatry is partnering with New Reality International to provide culturally sensitive and sustainable mental health services for Syrian refugees. Dr. Schaepper will meet with local leadership and refugee groups in the Middle East. We are developing compassionate and committed mental health team to provide weekly tele-therapy sessions to address the acute needs of this vulnerable population.

Dr. Schaepper speaks to parents, caretakers and patients dealing with Autism and Intellectual Disability. She explains recent changes in diagnoses, updates information on behavioral interventions, alternative therapies, genetic and environmental etiologies and medications. Her style is interactive, upbeat, yet validating the huge challenges this population experiences.

We are stronger together. Reducing stigma for mental health care, creating access to care, insisting on parity for mental treatment, and most recently lobbying locally for treatment of the severely mentally ill who refuse treatment to receive assisted outpatient treatment are what Dr. Schaepper is about. She is in active leadership in the American Psychiatric Association.
