Mary Ann Schaepper, MD, M.Ed, DFAPA

Taking on mental health challenges is my passion. I meet you where you are, work with you as a unique person or family, and together we will create the results you seek. We will address your psychological wellbeing, medical health, strengths, social network, and sense of purpose. I am a trained psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapist and utilize these skills, along with psychopharmacology as needed, to realize your optimal mental health.

I am a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. I completed general psychiatry training at Loma Linda University, continued at UCLA with a Child & Adolescent Fellowship where I fine-tuned my current interests in: Treating individuals and families holistically, psychotherapy, autism and intellectual disability, gender dysphoric disorder, women’s issues, depression and anxiety, and leadership challenges.

My background as an elementary and high school teacher early on, helped me realize where kids, parents and teachers often struggle. I went to medical school in my thirties with a young family and know the challenges of parents in today’s workplace. I have been a psychiatry training director for many years and developed skills to coach people to reach their dreams. I am tri-lingual (French, German and English) and value my patients’ cultural and spiritual experiences.

I look forward to working with you!
